What is Dragon Traveler?
Dragon Traveler is a gacha team-battler where you collect Luminaries (units), sort them across elemental teams โ red, blue, green, light and dark โ and push Story, AFK farming, boss expeditions, the Coliseum and Arena.
Your early goal is simple: lock in a core of strong free units, feed your resources into them instead of spreading thin, and only chase EX units through their dedicated events. Do that and you'll clear content well above your power level.
Redeem codes first
Before anything else, grab every active code โ they hand out Diamonds, Summoning Tickets, Legacy Dragon Crystals and Luminary Shards that jump-start your account. Codes are NOT case-sensitive and there's no daily limit.
You'll need to finish Chapter 1 (the tutorial) first to unlock redemption. Then tap your character avatar in the top-left, open Redeem Code beneath your Personal Signature, paste the code, and confirm โ rewards land in your in-game mail. Our codes page keeps a working list with one-tap copy.
Reroll for a strong start
Rerolling early is worth it because your opening summons decide how fast you snowball. Clear the tutorial, claim your starting pulls, and check what you landed before you link the account.
You don't need a perfect board โ you get a free Poseidon, and units like Oberonnie hand you free copies over time. Aim to walk away with at least one strong S-tier carry, then link (Google/Apple/etc.) to lock the account in.
Build the free core first
The fastest F2P accounts don't chase everything โ they build a tight core and gear it. Poseidon is free and reaching Purple 3 gives him double death-immunity, which lets you push fights you're technically under-leveled for.
Round him out with Azure Dragon (cheapest to build โ just stack HP), Oberonnie as your dodge tank, Ephree as your backline nuke, and Siegfried, whose defense-down and backline-sniping overdrive combo perfectly with Ephree.
- โธPoseidon โ free copy, push to Purple 3 for two death-immunes.
- โธAzure Dragon โ fat shields + CC, only needs HP gear.
- โธOberonnie โ free copies, built-in dodge negates 100% damage.
- โธEphree โ the backline deleter your whole team is built around.
- โธSiegfried โ defense-down + snipe overdrive that sets up Ephree.
Farm shop units to Diamond early
Some of the strongest F2P units are buyable, not gacha-locked. Cleo and Medusa can be picked up with shop currency and added to your wishlist, so a new account that starts farming them immediately can have them Diamond-ranked while everyone else is still hoping for copies.
Cleo in particular spams death-rattle and awakening procs without even needing her overdrive on โ huge value for a Death Rattle team.
EX units: wait for the event
The single biggest ticket-waster is dumping summons into random EX units. You do NOT need Athena to beat Trial by Fire, and building a random EX just to justify it will set your account back.
Save your EX tickets for dedicated EX events, or let one unit be a slow long-term project. Use the Wish Exchange system deliberately โ don't spend points the moment you have them.
Gear & progression order
- โธFocus gear on your main DPS and your one tank before anything else โ spread-thin accounts stall.
- โธDon't auto-equip Oath or runestones/artifacts blindly; the right equip order is a massive free combat-power gain.
- โธMatch units to their element team (red/blue/green/light/dark) for the dragon defense bonus.
- โธSupports like Vivienne need real gear and their overdrive to pay off โ hold them until your account can fuel them.
- โธRe-check codes weekly and keep pushing Story for AFK-rate upgrades.
Common beginner mistakes
- โธWasting EX tickets on off-event random EXs you'll never build.
- โธSpreading upgrades across your whole box instead of one strong core.
- โธRunning Vivienne early with no crit gear or overdrive uptime โ you lose half her kit.
- โธAuto-equipping gear and Oath instead of following the optimal order.
- โธIgnoring buyable units like Cleo and Medusa that Diamond fast for free.
