What is Sword X Staff?
Sword X Staff is a Roblox action-RPG where you pick a combat path — sword-based melee or staff-based magic — and grow it into powerful late-game classes. You fight through regions, collect Fantomon pets, equip relics for flat power, and chase upgrade materials like Dawnium and Stellatie.
Your goal early on is simple: unlock your class path, lock in a strong damage skill, and stack ATK. Everything below is ordered to get you there.
Your first 30 minutes
Push through the opening area and progress until you reach the Verdantglade region and unlock the Goddess Statue. This matters for two reasons: it opens up core progression, and it's required before the code mailbox will appear.
- ▸Follow the main quest — don't grind random mobs yet.
- ▸Unlock the Goddess Statue (needed to redeem codes).
- ▸Reach Verdantglade, then start farming for your first upgrades.
Best beginner class (free-to-play)
If you're not spending money, start as a Duelist. Its multi-hit combos and crit scaling perform well at any gear level, so you don't need rare drops to feel strong.
Classes evolve along a tree — Warriors can become Berserkers, Mages branch into Destroyer or Dominator, and so on. If you plan to invest later, Sage scales hardest of all into the endgame. Check our tier list for the full rankings.
Redeem codes for a fast start
Before anything else, redeem every active code — they hand you free Dawnium, Stellatie, Destiny Fruits and Auroral Badges that massively speed up your first few hours.

Skills & relics to prioritize
Skills and relics often decide your clear speed more than your class does. Secure one S-tier damage skill early and pair it with a flat-ATK relic.
Aim for Water Assault or Lion Combo as your core skill, and grab Everburn Throne for an instant +58 ATK that works on every class with zero farming.
Best early pet (Fantomon)
Fantomons add passive power and combo support. If you're lucky enough to pull Zeioletus, equip it immediately — it's the best all-rounder. Otherwise, favor any damage-leaning Mythical until something better drops.
How to progress fast
- ▸Always be working a quest — directed progress beats aimless grinding.
- ▸Spend code rewards on your main damage path, not side stats.
- ▸Re-check codes weekly; new ones drop often and old ones expire.
- ▸Match your skill to your class (melee skills on sword paths, AoE magic on staff paths).
- ▸Don't hoard Dawnium — invest it into upgrades you'll actually use.
Common beginner mistakes
- ▸Skipping codes — you're leaving free Dawnium and fruits on the table.
- ▸Picking a tanky class as F2P — you'll clear far slower than a Duelist.
- ▸Spreading upgrades thin instead of focusing one strong build.
- ▸Ignoring relics — flat ATK is some of the cheapest power in the game.
